Flare Networks, the blockchain software team tasked with the organization of the upcoming XRP "utility fork" has shared the latest details on its progress. Independent XRP Ledger explorers show that the "response" of the XRP community to the December airdrop is becoming more and more impressive.
One more lending platform will support Spark airdrop
Launched in 2018 as a micro-investing platform, Cred (LBA) crypto lender now delivers a wide range of services in the sphere of cryptocurrencies lending and borrowing instruments. It supports 29 assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and XRP for storage, exchange and passive income programs.
Now all XRP holders onboarded by Cred (LBA) can take part in the upcoming Spark token airdrop initiated by Flare Networks. The announcement about the partnership was made in a recent tweet by Flare.

It means that owners of XRP tokens who decided to store them in Cred (LBA) wallets would be able to receive Spark coins in a 1:1 proportion to their XRP allocation registered by a snapshot in December 2020.
As covered by CryptoComes previously, some major Ripple partners also announced that they will support the Spark token airdrop. For example, SBI, the Japanese fintech giant, will participate through its wholly-owned SBI VC Trade cryptocurrencies exchange.
Top-league XRP whales join the game
Furthermore, some new statistics displaying preparations for the upcoming airdrop have been unveiled by independent analysts. XRPLorer, the on-chain data vendor for XRP Ledger transactions, disclosed that some XRP whales showed interest in receiving Spark tokens.
A little @FlareNetworks Spark token update.
- 19,977 accounts have set message key
- The accounts currently have a balance of ~1,110,000,000 XRP
- The largest XRPL account has a balance of ~168M XRP followed by ~24M and ~13M
Thus, the unidentified holder of $42 mln in XRP equivalent will receive a massive amount of Spark tokens once the airdrop finally takes place.
It should be noted that Spark tokens will be a backbone of Flare, the "utility fork" of XRP Ledger that will empower existing XRPL instruments with smart contracts capacity.
XRPL Labs lead developer Wietse Wind has released a tool and manual to ensure smooth and seamless claiming of Spark for all XRP holders.
