Weiss Ratings, the only American rating agency that does rankings for digital assets, has recently upgraded Litecoin’s score to “excellent” in investment rewards and adoption.
The coin’s overall grade in the “Investment Risk/Reward” department has improved from C to B-. For comparison, Bitcoin, the most adopted cryptocurrency, only has a C-.
With its numerous partnerships, Litecoin has a B- in the “Technology/Adoption” category with the highest mark in adoption.
The Litecoin Foundation, which is spearheaded by tech prodigy Charlie Lee, inked a partnership with privacy-oriented crypto Beam. On top of that, it teamed up with hotel booking platform Travala.com.
Given that Litecoin is an early fork of Bitcoin, it is unlikely to get the highest grade even though it offers faster and cheaper transactions, but it won’t prevent the coin from getting a ‘buy’ rating.
Cryptocurrencies do not have to achieve an A grade to merit interest by investors. A ‘B’ or even ‘B-‘ also qualify as the investment rating equivalent to ‘buy,” the agency explains.
