Within the framework of this collaboration, the IOHK team invites all enthusiasts to participate in its programs. At press time, Catalyst hosts the Blockchain For Social Good campaign.
Any developer can share his/her solution that is dedicated to the public good. All applicants' software should be open-source. Even if the full codebase is not ready yet, software with several use cases and samples will be accepted for the program. The application deadline is set for Oct. 10.
Tim Harrison, strategic communications specialist at IOHK, and Dr. Dor Garbash, governance product manager, are included on Catalyst's expert panel for this initiative.
With Catalyst, Cardano (ADA) showcases a new-gen approach to community building in blockchain
As covered by CryptoComes previously, Project Catalyst was quietly launched in early August. In two weeks, the first 50 members joined the initiative tasked with developing Cardano-based solutions for distributed systems. Dr. Garbash coordinated the product as its mentor.
The first stage of the project was called Fund1, and 57 ideas were presented during this phase. Within Fund2, which began on Sept. 16 with the public announcement of Catalyst's mission, a $250,000 fund was established to support its best ideas.
The winners of Fund2 will be chosen during the open referendum of Cardano (ADA) holders who joined Project Catalyst.
