In an interview for CNBC, Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO, said that criticism of the US president, Donald Trump about cryptocurrency may be useful for the industry. CZ said the following:

Trump so far has not done anything positive or negative, he’s just said he’s not a fan. The fact that he tweeted about it, and the president of the United States is talking about cryptocurrency, it’s a good thing.

Thus, Zhao responded to Trump's statements on his twitter, where the president said that he was “not a fan” of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, claiming that they are “not money”. Facebook’s plans to create a Libra cryptocurrency, which in Trump’s opinion are subject to federal banking regulation, have come under fire too.

Ready for any scenarios

According to Changphen Zhao, even if the United States goes to ban cryptocurrency, which he calls the “worst-case scenario”, the industry will still be afloat.

Cryptocurrency will survive regardless of any one country. Most countries that try to ban bitcoin cause their citizens to want cryptocurrency more.
